MBBS, also known as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, has been one of the prestigious courses among medical courses across the globe for generations. Despite its reputation, MBBS is the most challenging course in higher education. MBBS aims to give an academic understanding of concepts such as human anatomy, chemistry, medicine, drug formulation and effect, pharmaceutical experience, and method of surgery through practical and theoretical experiences. The duration of the MBBS course is 5 ½ years including a rotating internship of one year. The internship is mandatory, and one can complete the course only by completing an internship. The duration of the MBBS academic course is 4 ½ years that comprises nine semesters. MCI (Medical Council of India) is the only accreditation body in India for the MBBS course. Medical Council of India is responsible for structuring/ revamping the MBBS course in India.
NEET is the only entrance exam for admission in MBBS/ BDS/ BVSc/ UG AYUSH courses.NEET-UG: is a popular national-level MBBS entrance exam. All the government & private medical colleges, universities, and deemed universities consider NEET-UG score for MBBS admissions. Usually, NEET-UG is conducted in the month of May every year.
